Heart Saver AED (Defibrillator) Course
Course Details:
This comprehensive Heartsaver AED Course is designed to teach Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) & Automated External Defibrillator (AED) skills for the lay rescuer and first responder.
The course is multimedia based with practical instruction from qualified Irish Heart Foundation Instructors.
Objectives of Course:
On completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify and treat an adult or child victim of sudden cardiac arrest by providing CPR and using an AED
- Treat an adult or child victim of choking to Irish Heart Foundation/ American Heart Association guidelines.

Who Should attend
Anyone who needs to learn CPR and how to use an AED.
Pre-Course Requirements
No pre course requirements but English is the language in which training is delivered and participants must have a good command of the English language. If participants wish to bring an interpreter this can be arranged with prior notice which must be given to Doyle Health and Safety.
Assessment/Certification
Upon successful skills demonstration, participant will be awarded the Irish Heart Foundation Heartsaver AED certificate card which is valid for 2 years. This course needs to be refreshed every 2 years and it is recommended that 3-6 monthly refresher training also be completed.
