Course Details:
This course provides the learner with the knowledge; practical skills and understanding to a level of competency so they may deal with and manage both minor and serious emergency situations.

On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Deal with and manage both minor and serious emergency situations.

Programme

  • Overview of relevant legislation
  • Cause and cost of fires  
  • Understanding fires:
  • Fire classification, physics & chemistry of fires & spread of fire
  • Introduction to breathing apparatus including basic search and rescue
  • emergency servicesTheory of Fire Behaviour (Back draft and Flashover)
  • Fire hose drills
  • Responding to & dealing with chemical spill (theory & practical)
  • Introduction to confined Space rescue (theory and practical)
  • Course De-brief

Who Should attend

ERT Team members and ERT Team Leaders in the workplace

Pre-Course Requirements

 No pre course requirements but English is the language in which training is delivered and participants must have a good command of the English language. If participants wish to bring an interpreter this can be arranged with prior notice which must be given to Doyle Health and Safety.

Assessment/Certification

Participants will receive a certificate of attendance on successful completion of the course
